Re: One Flew over the Cuckoo\'s Nest
I watched it again a few months ago. I cried at the end. Very emotional. The book is very different, though. I haven't read it, but Ken Kasey was furious about the movie being told from JN's character's perspective instead of Chief's.

I forgot this important detail: I didn't see the ending. We had a presentation of the movie for one of my classes, but I had to leave with about 30 minutes of the movie left for another class. I wound up reading the plot overview on SparkNotes later that night and became really shook up, having only read 3 or 4 brief paragraphs. I suppose that says something about creating a bond with characters. I think I am going to order this on Amazon right about now. |

Wow, are you effing joking? Seeing the ending is the best part of the entire thing, bro. It's so emotional. The music, chief, arrgh! I feel like cropping it from my .avi and sending it to you.

[/ QUOTE ] I wish... I was so frustrated when I had to leave for that other class. The last scene I saw was when McMurphy came back from electroshock therapy walking like a zombie then started laughing and joking with the others. So... That would still be a huge file |

This really is one of those movies that you "have" to see. [/ QUOTE ] I totally agree. Jack Nikelson gave a powerful performance. He was all like "No TV and no beer make Jack go crazy." Great, Oscar-worthy performances all around. |

You should pick up a few of Ken Kesey's books. "Sometimes a Great Notion" is a good one. [/ QUOTE ] . . most excellent book, but do NOT see this movie. . ... |

Re: One Flew over the Cuckoo\'s Nest
Whenever I find myself surrounded by people who are acting crazy (think "eight-ways capped preflop), I'll often say, "Nurse Ratched? Mr MacMurphy said something about a baseball game?"
