Default Re: Pharaoh\'s Club Paulson - Blue $1 or White $1 chip?

Why is everyone surprised? A majority of $1 poker/casino chips are white - whether they are from home sets or a casino. I'm more for tradition, and the fact that even though they will have denoms on them too many players will assume that the white is a $1 chips anyway because they are used to it. Worrying about "dirtying" your chips is the real surprise.

I'm WAY in favor of a white buck.
It's the unit, the base, the foundation.
I makes the colored chips really mean something!

I like the idea of having the blue $1 chip, except I think there might be a big problem with dark blue base and white edge spots. All the Vegas $1 chips I've seen - Mirage, Bellagio, Treasure Island with that color combination has the problem of the blue bleeding onto the white turning them into a freakish color. It seemed inevitable that this will happen so as long as the chips are stacked.

Didn't I read about that in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"?

I'm glad it's just an artist's rendition, because I see no concentric circles!
We need concentric circles in the mold!

True, I am hoping they add them. But I'd bet money they don't. They don't want them mistaken for casino chips at all.

In my opinion it would be best to have a white 1$ and a blue 10$ like they have in trademark's paulson. then if you would like to use a 0,25 you can use the 25$ since this chip doesn't have to be in play when you have a 10$ (which would be a large denom in a game with 0,25 ante).. and also I think that if there should be a 0,25chip it shouldn't be as nice as this.. it should be a gray chip with hot stamp and no edgespot.. my opinion anyway if a classic clay set is the goal.

I like the design though.. excellent work...

I think the problem with that idea is that I believe there is very little demand for a $10 chip. It isn't a traditional casino denomination, and it isn't used in tourney or cash games. why not just throw in 2 $5 chips instead of one $10??

Hi, I voted earlier for the blue $1 chip because I like it much more than the white one.

I played B&M yesterday and the casino had white $1 chips. They were FILTHY!!!!!! I don't know if this is how they normally are or it was lack of care/overlength in use - they were really not holding up well.

I would prefer for a white chip to not be one of the most commonly used denominations - - and this assumes I can afford the finished product!!!

In defense of the white $1, There is just no way you will be able to soil it as badly as a casino.
It may take a year before you can even notice any grime at all. Heck, they'll barely be broken in...
