Quite simply, because when people spout moronic, illogical, whiny crap, it is human nature to attempt to explain reality to them. After becoming obnoxiously repetitive, it is human nature (and more fun) to mock them.

why the need to convince others to not convince others that online poker isnt rigged?

Not fair. Pointing out the obvious self-application of the OP rant was like taking candy from a baby.

Why do people find the need to convince others that online poker is fair and square? I just don't get it. If you are a winning player good for you. Why do you guys have to bash naysayers into the ground?

I can see maybe because you don't want the accusations to scare away fish.. However, it's not like the fish read the posts on this site anyway.

Seems a bit retarded.

I continue to get ticked off by people calling others "retarded" outside OOT. I admit I used this slur myself up until about 10th grade. This forum is not my property, so I don't make the rules, of course.

As for your original point:

Given the anecdotal evidence from my interactions with others and claims about the perception of online poker in the B&M world, I think it very important to promote the integrity of online poker games where such promotion is warranted.

I believe there is a meaningful pool of potential online players who avoid online poker because of an array of concerns about game integrity, money safety, legality, etc.

I love 2+2, but let's be honest, there are a lot of fish around here. The fish to good player ratio may not be what it is at a casino or even on some other forums, but there are still a good number of fish on these boards.
