Default There are plenty of nuts out there

Regarding the draft, not to worry there are plenty of nuts who will continue to sign up -- usually, not always, for economic reason. Pretty much the same formula that the fanatics on the other side use to get their cannon fodder.

Not to re-hash a decided election, but regarding Bush not admitting a mistake, what was Kerry's answer to that question.

If I remember correctly, Bush admitted some of his appointments were mistakes. Kerry went into a soap opera story about his mother in the hospital. Who dodged the question?

As a 22 year old American male, I am not looking forward to another 4 more years of the Bush administration, because of the HIGH probability of a military draft that I see coming within the next couple of years, among the other potential disasters I see coming. Anyone who believes that such an event like a military draft isn't possible needs to remove the wool from their eyes immediately.

I think you should remove the wool from your head immediately. The only remote chance of a draft being instituted is if this country came under full scale attack and I think we know the probability of that. A draft intitiative would receive 0 support in Congress. Additionally no member of the military wants a draft and know how detrimental to the quality of our forces.

Agreed, I know several people that were officers in Vietnam and they DO NOT like the idea of a draft. The draft = crappy soldiers which can be more trouble than they are worth. America learned the hard way during Vietnam that the draft is not a good thing.

Also, don't you know it's the democrats that are pushing this draft thing?

Anyway. Yes my viewpoint is extreme and no I don't think anyone in the two party system we have in this country has the abilitiy or the balls to stem the tide of hatred America is creating throughout the world.

However, I feel my comments were made in the emotion of seeing this country which could benefit the world so greatly instead re-elect a man who is hell-bent on pushing American values, standards and morals on a world that will not and should not accept them. The way of life here is no "better" than anywher else, it is only different. Every powerful nation in history has tried to colonize the world and the United States has proven it is no different.

First we colonized the west, then the south, now the far east. By implanting "our" brand of government we are forcing our worldview on others, and doing so with violence.

Why do you think terrorists attack this country? Were they simply born EVIL? (As the current administration would have you believe). NO! They attack us for very clear reasons, because we force ourselves on them, because we demand that the United States point of view is superior to all others.

At any rate, I know I'm not changing anyone's mind here, and to be honest I abhor politics. So this will be my last response to this thread and this forum.

Grifter, I respect your right to your opinion. Everyone has the right to be wrong.

I am grateful that you were not around in 1776. Otherwise, we would have been a beaten down colony, and more than likely about 165 years later, hyperbole notwithstanding, we would be goose-stepping at this time.

Have a nice day!
