Purchased at 27 - paid off at 30 (not via P*ker $$). A homeowners mortgage is something that CANADIANS should pay off as soon as possible. In the US all that interest is tax deductable, I say kick the bucket while owing the bank 97% of the value of the house (assuming you can get a 3% down mortgage and you don't intend on leaving anything behind). In fact, I think there are some "interest only" mortgages available in the US, but I'm not sure about the details. |
