Not to mention that it's bankrupt, the President.

I really like Ameristar's poker room. It's not big by any means, but neither is it crammed or uncomfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the dealers are professional and efficient.

Harrah's is OK. I have nothing bad to say about the poker room, really, except that I prefer the Ameristar overall because it's not so loud and obnoxious as Harrah's.

Anyways, I'll be at the Ameristar this saturday from about noon until late playing something around 6/12 to 20/40 depending on what they have going. Just look for the kid who looks too young to be in a casino in a polo and jeans.

The President is dirty, dingy, and uncomfortable, with nasty tables, filthy chips

The dealers are the worst I have ever seen. I once saw the dealer let the button stay on the same player for 3 straight hands. The same night I had a dealer who had to ask the players how to do a side pot. And in my rack of chips I had a couple of chips that were broken in half.

Oh, that's helpful!

Anyway, I agree with all previous statments and will add that Ameristar spreads 1/2 NL 300 max and Harrah's does 2/5 NL 500 max. Also, on weekend nights I've always had it easier getting a table at Harrahs.

Just wanted to say that the 20/40 at the ameristar is a very good game. Wasn't uncommon to see it go 2-3 bets 5 ways PF. The only problem is the lame $500 every 2-hours that you are allowed to buy in for according to missouri law.

Could anyone tell me exactly what the rule is with the $500 every two hours? Do they just record when you purchase chips and force you to sit around for 2 more hours before buying more. It seems like 12.5BB isn't going to go that far in a loose game.

Yes, you need to get an awards card before you enter the casino. When you buy chips you present the card and they put in how many chips you buy. They only allow you to buy $500 every two hours. I just played in the 5-10 game, got something to eat, then bought another $500. The regulars in the game bring chips home I guess.
