Neutral Milk Hotel is good dude. They shouldn't be nominated though, but I can't believe you have the right to criticize them when you listen to Simple [censored] Plan

Touche - even though I listed precisely ONE song for a workout mix...

I'll give them a chance - what type of music would you call them? I'm going to go with some kind of underground punk/ska type thing based on their name alone, even though I'm probably wrong.

I still think to not list Garth in this would be a shame, even though all the [censored] country-haters would never let it happen.

But "Neutral Milk Hotel"??? To be the best band of the 90s, I think more than 3 people need to like them.

[/ QUOTE ]

Though they never reached mass success, their second album is one of the most highly regarded albums in the indie community to come out of the 90s.

FWIW:

[ QUOTE ]
In its 10th anniversary issue, Magnet voted it the best album of the past decade, above Nirvana's "In Utero" and Radiohead's "OK Computer"

Like all classic art, it is widely misunderstood; yet to some, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea has become a riddle the likes of The Wasteland-- an impossibly rich text that begs to be deciphered, yet continually evades any singular interpretation.

From a pitchfork article in which they named their second album the 4th best of the 90s. (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/top/90s/index10.shtml)

I would never expect them to win such a contest, but I still felt like nominating them anyway.
