I disagree Matt. Direction like that implies the randomness of "real" life. At times I thought they pushed it over the top, but much of this was necessary to sell the effect of the movie. The guy needing a face mask was an example of that (and lets be honest they need stuff that will chew up time with this premise).

I didn't really think BWP was all that scary. But I find the idea of floating helplessly in the ocean to be completely terrifying, thus I found OW to be much more effective on a psychological level.

Word. I watched most of the movie in 2x or 4x just to get through it. I'd slow it down when it looked like something was happening.
