There is more action and the game is a lot faster, but I think for the casual viewer it is not as exciting to them because they don't realize what's at stake. In NL you can tell when a huge pot is at stake because the players are betting big and you can hear and see how much they are betting. But in limit they keep betting the same amount, and as a result you don't realize how big the pot really is. And since the action moves so fast you don't realize just how big the pot is getting until the end.

On a side note, will somebody please tell VVP to stop using the term "wired pair" when he's announcing a holdem tournament. ALL starting hands in holdem that contain a pair are wired! It's a term that really only applies to stud. Also, it just sounds weird hearing Sexton call Eric "E-Dog." I wish he would keep that to a minimum.

Default no difference

I'd give you 2: 1 that the "casual viewer" didn't notice anything different about tonight's show. And if they did, it was only because they heard Sexton or VVP mention it.

BTW, I didn't pay much attention but I 1) thought Hinchcliffe was a total fish and 2) didn't hear VVP say anything incredibly stupid. Can anyone confirm this.

1. Can you say "tilt?"

2. You didn't listen close enough (and I normally like him).

I can buy that he was tilting, but still... I mean that guy was wearing a neon sign. I see fewer tells at 5/10.

This was by far the most entertaining WPT yet and I would rather they all be limit (although nobody would watch those.)
Nice to see some actual play past the first two cards, for once.
Also while I still think limit is a format that takes less skill than NL, it was interesting to see that today's final table had probably the biggest names out of any final table so far in WPT.
I thought Hincliffe played pretty much like most party low limit players. Then again, he made a lot more money than I ever have and probably will.

Oh yeah ... we're on the same page. I just meant that he clearly was on tilt from the point when he lost that one pot (forget the exact cards now, but it was very obvious).

i wasn't really watching for the tells so much.....but his play was pretty awful.

i also found it interesting that the limit format tourney had the greatest percentage of bigger-name players at the final table.

the whole wired-pair bit is really bugging me.
as i mentioned in a previous post....
if you have 'wired' 9's then you have a 'pair' of 9's
if you have a 'pair' of 9's then they are 'wired'.

saying it twice like that is like ordering a Pepperoni Pizza with Pepperoni.

even better when he says 'wired pair of 9's in the HOLE'
that's like saying it 3 times.

how about 'a wired pair of POCKET 9's in the hole' which would be like saying it 4 times.
i don't know if he's actually done this but i wouldn't be surprised.

why cant he just say "he's got 9's"

what if he broadcast other sports??

'in his last start he threw a shut-out in which he didn't allow any runs'

'hes in the end-zone at the end of the field for a 6-point touchdown'

'he drains the trey from behind the 3-point line for a basket worth 3-points'

something like that anyway.

i'm going to go get a cheeseburger with cheese now.

The pot in limit isn't really big. It seems small compared to NL because it is small. Heads up, for example, a "big" pot has maybe 14 small bets in it. In NL more likely than not it will be that big before the turn, and often before the flop.

If you are talking about the person I think you're talking about, she still deals at Diamond Lils.
