I thought it was a good move on their part. I withdrew most (90-95%) of my account a few weeks prior - the thought crossed my mind that it may have been a marketing effort in response to my cashout - but I haven't played any online poker in a month or two. My point of view is that if you see something at a game you are playing that makes you uncomfortable, on-line or not, get up and leave. It would be a tremendous positive for all of on-line poker if the card rooms utilize methods of detecting collusion. I took the response from Planet as a positive.

I have written on the subject before but worth repeating. Yes, it is happening. Yes at low limits. This is where colluders will hone their craft. As a floorman in a casino, I have studied videos on collusion. I can tell you, there are many aspects to the phenom. More than simply trapping for bets. If the two players are good at it, it is INDEFENSIBLE. I appreciate that all of us feel that we are bright people and that we can detect wrongdoing. Some might even think that we have a defense for it. Please, don't be deluded. A good (not even great) team with more than simply trap in their arsenal can do a lot of damage to you in a very short period of time. I believe that a lot of responsibility is on the sites to detect collusion. Hearing that paradise will issue a warning to someone who admits to perpetrating is very frightening even if the e-mail was a joke. It's like yelling bomb at an airport. There cannot be ANY TOLERANCE for collusion. I would personally appreciate a response from paradise in this regard. Otherwise, I think that I will be unable to ever play that site again and would strongly advise others of the same. This is not a "paradise is rigged problem", this is a "paradise owes a duty to its customers" problem.

Havn't seen the problem too much, but was in a 5/10 game on PP 2 nights ago that I am certain had collusion taking place.

2 players were frequently capping up the pot, often when one had rags (in the rare event he exposed his hand). At times one would raise, cap, etc., bet the flop, and lay down his hand when his partner raised it, even though the flop was rags and little or no rationale could be found for him to have capped pre flop.

They also had much longer decision delays than most of the players, indicating they may have been taking the time to ponder each other's hand. I'm going to look for these 2 again and see if they are at the same table playing the same way. If so I will track and report them.

On the other hand, I was down to 3 way play yesterday in a $30 tourney, and a disgruntled payer who had just been bumped out by my opponent, accused us of cheating when the opponent raised in the small blind with a 10/5, against the third player in the BB, who had been showing great weakness in laying down hands for a bet.

The chatter who was bumped out fourth said he was sending the hand to PP, etc., but the rest of us didn't bother to respond.

Interesting. I had the same thing happen. I talk to a lady on PP quite often in games. We are sort of "internet friends". Anyway, we were in a tournament together and happened to come first and second. (she came first....sigh) Anyway, the player who came third immediately accused us of cheating. I suppose due to the online conversations we had while playing the tourney. They were totally unrelated to the game. I considered e-mailing PP and complaining about him for making such an accusation. I believe that some people do not understand what a serious accusation collusion is. Prior to making such a statement, one should be very certain that something is amiss. Then, if they truly believe it, instead of making the accusation, inform the floor/site of suspicious behaviour.

Cheers to friendlier, safer, more honest games.
