JFYI dealers, I have received 8 PM's supporting my view on tipping. It seems many players feel it has gone over the top.

[/ QUOTE ]

WTF?? If you (or anyone else) thinks that the "tipping situation" is "over the top" then DON'T FUKKEN TIP! How hard is that? Just don't come over here telling everyone your dumb story you made up to try to not look like a cheapskate loser as your justification. Nobody cares. If you want to be a cheapskate, fine, but don't get all pissy when you get called on it. Pay the price. STFU.

Who the fukk are you?

Your location says Arkansas, so listen up country hick.
Are there any B&M's in bum fukk Arkansas or are you some hillbilly that travels to Vegas once a year?

Either way, I am not impressed with your opinion because you know nothing about playing live so why don't you STFU.

You seem to forget dealers you are there for us and not the other way around.

Despite the fact that I did "flame" you quite a bit on those other threads, this is a good point. When I see surly, nasty, or bitter dealers, I wonder why they keep dealing. Probably because they're addicted to the TIPS and the MONEY. Well SchmuckMasterMcBitter boy dealers, go back to super-sizing it already because us GOOD dealers want to EARN our tips, not just get them because the players are "s'posedta" tip.

Well I won't give dollar figures, but I can tell you us dealers DO make a lot of money. And damn well we should too, for putting up with all the BULLPUCKY we get all day long from SCHMUCKS.

Don't get me wrong tho, the really good customers are loved by the dealers, and their tips are APPRECIATED GREATLY.

I think people understand the point of the original post. I grant you, I don't go walking up to an airline pilot and ask them how much money they make. I assume they make enough. However, I am not against finding out. I.e., I would take comfort in knowing that the person flying my plane makes enough to have reason to land said plane.

Similarly, I do not ask dealers what they make. I naturally believe a dealer is making a modest income, but certainly one weighted by an expectation by their employeer of tips... and I feel compelled to tip said dealer based on my belief that their employeer shafts them because of tips...

But that's the rub. When it comes to the issue of dealer tipping, it is foolish to believe that what one tips, particularly at lowest limits, is not directly related the income of said dealer, if that income is known. I.e., The people most likely playing at low limits are probably in the same income bracket as the dealers dealing the game. If your average 2/4 dealer was pocketing $60,000+ a year, I highly doubt people in these games would feel compelled to tip bad dealers (most would probably want to deal!).

With that all said, I don't think the question needs to be asked for someone with common sense and an internet connection. As alluded above, it is unlikely a $2/4 dealer makes all that much... if they did, most people might seriously consider changing jobs. But it still isn't like being a dealer is easy, anyway. What is easy is to look up dealer salaries online and find out what they make. As it stands, I'm still tipping dealers in my area.

[ QUOTE ]
There's been a whole lot on here lately regarding dealer tips. Enough is enough. As far as what dealers make I find it offencive that someone would ask. I've had people actually ask me, while dealing, how much a dealer makes. What would you do if your local dealer came to your job and asked what you make? Not that I or anyone else should be ashamed of what we make but why would any dealer in their right mind come on a public forum and announce what they make? There are a lot of dealers that frequent this forum. Ever wonder why nobody, that deals for a living, ever answers the question?

[/ QUOTE ]

If someone came to me and had wuite of bit of interest in my job I'd talk to them about it and yes, I'd probably give them a ball park figure of my income. In a public forum? No But maybe if it came up in a public forum I'd PM him.

Maybe they're are some people that want to become a dealer. But they see in many forums about dealers getting screwed over. So they come here thinking how much they want to be a dealer but by many posts they think they make like 20K a year.

I can understand you being frustrated with people wanting to know things you aren't comfortable talking about but where else will they find out?

I have responded privately to people that are interested in knowing what a dealer makes because they are considering that line of work. Most of the people that come here and ask about it are interested in complaining that dealers make too much.
