PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
I've just now got 2,000 hands in at 1/2 Party. After having
a 175 bb profit last month with .5/1 Party, I was excited to jump up to 2 dollar limit. I lost about two hundred dollars this month and am going back down to .5/1, but this post is to just let the readers know I am getting killed on the 3,4, and 5 positions off the button (PokerTracker). Most hands are AJo and even suited, along with A T thru 6 off suit. Thinking back, most were limped in only to be raised with me calling that raise. I'm thinking of folding everything in 3,4 and 5 off the button except group 1 and 2 hands. What do you guys think? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on playing in these positions if you can limp from these seats. Thanks |

Re: PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
In the middle position if there is a raise in front it is coming from UTG or EP which usually means a strong hand. You should be folding here most times.
You should rarely be cold calling raises from any position. |

Re: PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
I'm not expert by no means, but if I'm in MP if raised to me I tighen up allot and if they limp in I'm a little losser but if raised from Ep I would Muck AJo.

Re: PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
brian, I will never call two bets unless I've got the top
group cards. I remember Lee Jones quote, "look for a reason to fold". I find myself in this situation usually in seat 3,4, 5 off the button with A J-6 off suit, there are one to three limpers to me, I'll limp too, only to get raised before the orbit is over. I feel like I'm caught in a trap then. Usually calling the raise only to fold after the flop. From now on I'm thinking folding all but the group 1 and (possibly 2) hands from these seats. I don't know why yet, but these positions are killing me (more than the others), I'm looking to fix one leak at a time, starting with the biggest. Thanks pd |

[ QUOTE ]
I find myself in this situation usually in seat 3,4, 5 off the button with A J-6 off suit, there are one to three limpers to me, I'll limp too [/ QUOTE ] AJo and ATo are the only two of these hands I would play at all and they would be case specific and still played rarely. AJo- After a few limpers and still some left to act I would muck most times, maybe a few rare times I would raise if I thought I could fold the rest of the field (not likely at this level very often). ATo would probably be played the same way but even less. When I was playing .50/1 and 1/2 I was mucking ATo with any limpers to me. |

Re: PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
brian, that's gonna be my plan. On another note, I've been
playing K 2-7 suited looking for flush wins from middle positions, not any more. It's just not working out. I hope you don't mind me asking, when you played .5/1 and 1/2 (Party?), did you absolutely kill the game before you moved on up? My plan is going to be on a monthly basis. If in the black, move up. pd |

Re: PokerTracker reveals where I\'m getting skinned alive.............
I only play Kxs from the button or SB with at least 3 limpers.
I was doing very well about 3 BB's per hour before I even thought about moving up. I wouldnt be in to much of a hurry to move up yet. You need to tighten up pre flop a little first. Post some hands you will get great help. |
