Default Non-stationary data and hand history databases

I just started a thread on this topic over on the internet board. I started it there because we have had several recent threads about programs like pokerstat and pokertracker over there. But I would love to hear the math wizards opinions of the effects of nonstationary behavoir on the effectiveness of these programs.
