I advanced thru step2 to step4 today and got 3rd which was $3500. If you think about it, most small timers aren't really going to win 4 straight so if someone actually makes it to step4 they will be ecstatic to make 600. This makes it much better for the people who want the 25k. I wanted to advance and let the 5k buyin ride but had no qualms about going out 3rd. I ran into Aces 3-handed, then lost a flip but it at least gives you a fallback option. I could've easily have made it to step5 and gotten 4th-10th but this new format is much better. There's been at least like 5step4s thats have gone off already and 1 or 2 step5s. And in response to your question, I am going to play slightly more conservative on that bubble. IF you work it up from step2 thats 6x your buyin and I'm perfectly fine with taking that down. Alright, peace. --Roothlus

what about the idea of more people getting paid at step 5, rather than step 4.

i mean the way it is right now, i would rather take 4rd in step 4, than play a step 5 with almost no shot at making any money.

Hi, It's my first post here even though I have been lurking forever. I have to say that the payout structure makes things very interesting. Playing at level 4, stuck in the back of my mind was the fact that if I were to make level 5 I might end up with nothing. Nevertheless, I'm sure glad I did make it and was fortunate enough to parlay my $33 into $15k - Gambo got me this time, but I snuck by her last time for a wsop seat (worked my way up from level 2) . I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have contributed to this site and would be happy to meet some of you in vegas in July.

I'm sure some people, who've worked their way up from step 1, will be tempted to bust out in 3rd in the step 4, rather than probably ending up with zilch in the step 5. This could make buying into the step 4 directly an attractive proposition, couldn't it?
