Re: overplayed TPTK (AK)? - 50NL 6max
I think you have to include pocket 6s and 9s in the range of hands as well. Some people will make this type of flop play with pocket queens as well. If you feel like your hand is probably good, definitely 3 bet the flop. That is the action that will really tell you where you are at. You might also get your opponent to fold something like AK so that you can take down the whole pot. A very tight opponent may even fold something like pocket aces to that play, but those players are few and far between. I still think a fold is not an unreasonable play on the flop.
It looks like you made it to the river on this hand. What did your opponent have? |

[ QUOTE ]
i wouldve repopped it pf. i'd also 3bet the flop thinking im probably up against KQ or KJ. i'm assuming that the SB went AI on the turn - which spells trouble. i'd fold to the SB pushing =\ .edit - i wouldve also lead the turn for the pot. [/ QUOTE ] if KQ/KJ is his most likely hand i would not be 3 betting. if that is the case i think op played it perfectly. if btn is likely to have spades then some % of the time i 3 bet the flop an some % of the time i call and lead a non spade turn. paul |
