Default Good fold or just bad play?

Played a bit of a shocker here. I probably shouldn't have entered the hand without at least one caller in front. What do you think?

Of course you should! 88 is a good hand. I would 3 bet this flop.

Good call preflop, but you should 3-bet this flop. Any reads on the villain? It would help a lot on later streets.

3-bet the flop and don't fold on the turn that easy... He just wants to scare you away, because he knows you are weak...

No question that you have to play the hand. I would have 3-bet the flop and not fold the turn. He very likely has an A for a str8 draw. He didn't raise pf, so AK is very unlikely.

I would call the flop, and bet out the turn. If villian raises again, I would fold.

3-betting the flop is better so that you get an idea of where you are. If he caps you on the flop then you can either go into checkcall or checkfold mode depending on the player. If you just call the flop and lead out again then you're putting in a big bet without defining the other guy's hand and you may be dead or near to dead (unlikely as it is).

I also like betting out the turn and folding to a raise.

But I like three betting the flop first because for the extra small there, I can be really comfortable folding to a raise on the turn.

Preflop is standard. 88 is a good hand, folding would be bad.

I would 3 bet the flop.

Don't fold on the turn, you are ahead here nearly all the time. CO most likley has a low flopped pair.

What are the advantages of this line over 3 betting the flop?
