Basil Rathbone vs Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes

I just posted a topic on Sherlock Holmes vs Keyser Soze and got to thinking about who portrayed Sherlock Holmes best in the films. I have always been a huge Basil Rathbone fan, but just recently re-viewed a number of Jeremy Brett films and may have come full circle.

Any thoughts?

PS: Please no comments on Watson, despite the difficulty in leaving him out of the equation.
