Aggressive Blind Structure
Over the weekend, I had a chance to play in a charity event for an opportunity to qualify for a buy-in to the '05 WSOP. There are two stages to qualifiying, and there are 8 events in the first stage. In the second stage, the top three in each qulaifying event play for the trip to Las Vegas.
My question lies in how I should alter my playing strategy. We start with $500 in chips and blinds begin at: 10-20 20 min 20-40 20 min 40-80 20 min 50-100 20 min 100-200 20 min etc... I've only been playing in tournaments for a couple of months (mostly with friends 15-20 people) with more gradual increases in blinds. My style is to play tight-aggressive, but this didn't seem to work in this tournament format. To advance, I think I need to loosen up my starting hand requirements, but I'm not sure how much to loosen up. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I've got another qualifier this upcoming weekend. |
