Re: Relgion Survey
I suspect all the Scientology voters were just trying to see the results. It's what I voted.

I keep coming back here wanting to pick one to vote for just to see the results. But they all have an equal 0 believability. [/ QUOTE ] i think there is a huge difference in the major religions, with some aspects more reasonable than others despite how absurd you may think it is. some are actually more absurd than others. |

Re: Relgion Survey
i'm curious as to why christianity is more believable than judiasm. certainly it is more popular as its the largest religion in the world. i'm not a theologist but it's my understanding that both christians and jews believe in the same god and they split with the arrival of jesus.
i.) christians see jesus as their messiah. ii.) jews are still waiting for theirs. given that they *fundamentally* have the same beliefs, wouldn't christianity be harder to believe since it requires this one more major point? |

Buddhism is hot right now!
I've always liked it as a philosophy, too. |

Re: Relgion Survey
Ancient Egyptian is kinda misleading. Yeah, there's Ra and Anubis and the whole guys with animal heads piloting boats on lakes of fire thing, but there's also their hyperscientific sun cults and the path and the way which are totally free of mysticism and miracles. Egyptian mythology is not some continuous monolithic faith, it's just the stuff we've pieced together from some broken rocks. From what we know of some of the pharaoh's, I think some of the more reasonable egyptian cults might be the correct answer.
