Default Hand of the Week: QQ

Villain here is a 25/5/1.5. Slightly loose/passive preflop (likes to limp his broadways to see if they hit, but still raises very premium hands like AA, AK), but pushes these hands a little more aggresively postflop when they do hit. Haven't see him overplay a hand yet, though.

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP1 posts a blind of $2.

Smooth call the 3bet here since it's HU, planning to pop any turn...

Don't think you can find a fold here. I think 1/15 times he has a pair < J, or a diamond draw that decided to go crazy with the three J's on board. If you had a better read on him, maybe - it sure is close.

I think the only question on the river is whether or not to cap. You are now ahead of 55 and 66 and still ahead of all pocket pairs besides KK and AA which are unlikely.

Folding would be horrible IMO.

sb has not overplayed a hand yet. a call looks fine. i don't think he would 3-bet the turn with a small full house like jacks full of sixes.

I'm partial to capping the flop so i can see what sb does since hes first to act on the turn, really only gives you 1 sb difference ( flop 3 bet = 3 sb + c/r turn = 2 bb flop cap =4 sb + turn 1 bb). I really do not like the raise on the river either. From my experience more often then not a 4 of a kind is present. Maybe thats me being weak/tight but i personally probably do not make that move given how the hand played out

The real problem I think in this example, is putting villain on a hand. On the flop, it's possible he is pushing something like 78 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for value (I think this is giving him a lot of credit), or decided to get tricky and not raise PF with his big PP (but probably would have LRR preflop, or just raised the first time around), mid PP (but probably wouldn't overplay/3bet 77-TT with an over on the board)but most likely his hand is consistent with something like QJ+, 2pair (65), or a set. Turn action doesn't tell us anything.

On the river, I have his 2pair/set/full house counterfeited, and since I assume he can read a board, I doubt he is 3betting the river with any of these hands, since he would probably not overplay a small full house like this, and I doubt he's 3betting with a flush on this type of board when my raise on the river tells him I have a full house.

Only hands that make sense for him are KK/AA/Jx, with actually the J being the most consistent with his ABC play (quad J is unlikely probability-wise though). I don't think we're good on the river that often to cap it.

I called the 3bet.

Villain shows QJ for quad jacks.
