Pocket Aces in Early position.
What was I thinking and what SHOULD have I been thinking:
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Button 3-bets, SB calls, 1 fold, Hero caps, MP1 calls, Button calls, SB calls. Raise the turn.

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
You should raise the turn. You're very likely to be best here. If its 3-bet you can call it and check/call river.
Why'd you lead the river after your turn check/call anyway? |

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
I probably would have played about the same, but looking at it deeper I agree that betting the turn is the right move. A Qx could be out there, but its just as likely a pocket pair, which you've got beat.

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
Yeah, Hero needs to be capping all streets here. The fact villian capped flop does not indicate Aq to me. More times out of a 100 he will be facing high pocket pair. Likely K or J could be possibility. The times he loses to 4 of kind with his Ace/Queen boat will profit more by cashing it in.

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
Err, the flop was only raised, not capped. With the two queens out, it looks like a classic way ahead/way behind scenario until the third Q hits the turn. I think 3-betting or capping this flop is reckless. I like Hero's call on the flop, but he should have come out gunning on the turn. I bet and 3-bet here, and if he caps I lead the river again and call a raise. If I had a read that Villain was aggressive I'd 3-bet the river too.

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
Errr... yes, I mean it was capped pre-flop. It should be capped on 4th and 5th street by hero if possible.

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
after the flop raise i've decided to call down
when the 3rd queen comes on the turn i'm c/r'ing and calling down a 3bet otherwise if just called im betting out on the river and calling a river raise |

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
only one card beats you... i feel like i would max this out on the last two streets w/o a read. is that reckless?

Re: Pocket Aces in Early position.
Nah. Not reckless at all.
