This is why those apartment finding agencies make money. Living in Manhattan is about the worst choice anyone could make. Even if I had to be there (say as a banker or something) I'd probably get a place in Staten Island and take the damn ferry.
My girlfriend has a pretty small 1 bedroom apartment (though it's enormous by Manhattan standards) and it's running her $2300 a month. That's about 4x what the place is worth in a more realistic city. ~D |
