Default More of the \"what are they thinking\" crap (low content)

Here are two consequetive hands I played at a table. 1st off I was playing on my Empire account which I haven't done forever and not in this game, so no one knows me. My opponent in the 2nd hand is a regular LAG clown I have PT hands on.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP folds, CO folds, Hero raises, SB folds, BB 3-bets, Hero caps, BB calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, BB calls.

River: (11.25 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 13.25 BB

Results below:
BB shows Qh As (two pair, queens and sevens).
Hero shows Kd Ks (two pair, kings and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins 13.25 BB.

OK? Pretty standard stuff. I played KK as hard as uh possible.

Very next hand:

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds, MP calls.

Flop: (10 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, MP checks, Hero bets, SB calls, MP calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, MP bets, Hero raises, SB folds, MP calls.

River: (10.50 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP raises

Here I think: OK well - I never win here. Ever. But this guy is just way too much of a clown for me to fold. I pause for ~5 seconds (a long time) and call.

Final Pot: 14.50 BB

Results in white below:
MP shows 3s 3c (one pair, threes).
Hero shows 9s 9d (one pair, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 14.50 BB.

mmm kay?

I think he checkraised the river with the sole intention of telling his friends how much like Stu Ungar he is, elevating him to a new height of coolness.

i dont at all mean to say your opponent played the hand correctly but i can almost see a semi-rational reason to do what he did. he could be thinking you would raise the turn with AK/AQ and then check behind on the river. once you bet the river he has the revelation that you in fact do not have AK/AQ but decides you might fold a hand kind of like what you had to his river checkraise. or he could just be a loony.

My point if there was one is - if you see someone play a good but not great hand very strongly, wouldn't that give you MORE reason to NOT put a move on someone in the very next hand? Heh.
