Default Newbie Question !

I am new to this forum and I am sure that this is a really dumb question. I hope nobody construes this to be a whining
post because it is not meant to be.

In 2 separate multi-table tournaments I have had QQ and AA
cracked on all ins. In both s(middle stage after 1st break). First off is it dumb to challenge all-in at this stage, QQ got cracked with J-9 pocket with final board that had J-9. AA Got cracked with QQ getting the set. Was this dumb play?

Further, what are the odds that those 2 hands would prevail in the long run. Is part of multi-table stratedgy survival first ? Thanking all in advance

Dave

AA has an 85% equity vs. any other random hand heads up. You'll lose with it occasionally but that's the chance you have to take.

To see how your hand does vs. any other hand go to www.twodimes.net/poker

pretty hard to assess anything with the info. given. i hope you are not wagering too much money on tourneys yet. keep playing and learning trial by fire, read these boards, and get some tourney books. if you are weak in short hand situations, sit n gos can aid with that. save the hand histories when you werent sure if you should call a bet, fold, or raise, despite the outcome, win lose or draw. those are the spots when we are unsure we post and a stud like fossilman provides insight that is invaluable. hope this helps. post some hands, gl
