Default Shenanigans at Artichoke Joe\'s. A 58 big bet pot.

I was playing with bad beetz in a crazy ram & jam 6-12 game while waiting to be called for the 15-30 at Artichoke Joe's when this hand came up.

UTG open-raises. UTG plays way too many hands and takes them way too far. EMP cold-calls. EMP is not very good... but I didn't realize quite how terrible until this hand. LP 3-bets. LP is a preflop maniac. He will raise/cap with any two before the flop, but plays more rationally postflop. In fact he will build a huge pot preflop only to fold for 1 bet postflop with an overcard getting 25:1. Other people don't seem to realize this. bad beetz folds on the button. I fold garbage in the SB. BB cold-calls. He's loose and bad and relishes putting bad beats on people, especially the maniac. UTG 4-bets. EMP calls. LP caps it at 5 bets and all call. Pot is 12.5BB.

Flop: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG bets. EMP calls. LP raises. BB cold-calls. UTG 3-bets. EMP calls. LP 4-bets. All call. Pot is 22.5BB.

Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB checks. UTG bets, EMP calls, LP raises. BB check-3-bets. UTG calls. EMP calls. LP 4-bets. BB caps it at 5 bets. All call. Pot is 42.5BB.

River: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. BB bets. UTG calls. EMP raises. LP 3-bets. BB calls. UTG folds. EMP 4-bets. LP caps. BB and EMP call. Pot is 58.5BB.

Since there's no way you will be able to put them on hands here's how it went down:

UTG: JJ
BB: 65o for the turned idiot end of the straight
LP: 98o for flopped trips and turned nut boat

And... the best of all:

EMP: 44 for a rivered baby boat

Default Recipe for lunacy

As a side note, Erik and I are laughing hysterically like two idiots during the play of the hand, because it is really funny.

It has all the ingredients for a looney-toon hand:

Start with 1-part preflop super-maniac who no-one notices is not a maniac post flop

add 1 healthy dollop of loose-aggressive post flopper who LOVES to put beats on the maniac who has taken a rack or so from him with hands like T2o capped preflop

fold in 2-parts hyena like Wi-Lo sp? (White boy in Cantonese) who lose a total of 1/2 SB.

sprinkle in some calling stations who cannot lay down a pocket pair when it's 3-BB cold to them.

Finally, bake in the oven along with flopped trips for the maniac, a turned straight for the LA and straight draw for calling station 1, and a rivered boat for the calling station.

Bake in biggest pot you own.
