Default Berkeley, CA Card Rooms?

Anybody got suggestions for the best card rooms in the Berkeley area? I'm here for a little less than a week, and want to get a little time in at the tables?
Also, anybody else going to be playing in the area in the next week?

Thanks,
Matt

The closest one to you will probably be The Oaks in Emeryville, they charge time to play, I think it is $4 every half hour at the 3/6 HE game, $5 every half hour for 6/12.
Also, Casino San Pablo is about a 10 or 15 min drive from Berkeley. You don't pay time there, but they drop $4 from the pot.

Not sure what limits you play, but I've played the 3/6 game and 6/12 game at both places and they are very loose.

Like the other poster said...Oaks Club in Emoryville is closest and also most likely to get shot in the parking lot.

San Pablo is close and has pretty good games.

Your best bet, if you want to make any money, is the Palace in Hayward. It's down the 880 about 10 miles or so. Small room (about 4-5 tables going) but the drop is small, and the games are incredibly soft. 3-6,4-8, and 8-16 couple nights a week...also a good no limit game $200 buy in 1-2-2 blinds.

I have not pleyed in either San Pablo or Oaks, but I understand from a friend that palys at both that there are alot of maniacle players at both in the low limit games. Just adjust your game accoridingly and you should make a fortune.

if this is the true rake for the 3-6 its awful. Probably unbeatable in the long run.
