Party 3/6 .50 ante 5 handed
[KcJd]Ks a 2 brings it in for a full bet, Ad next to act raises, Ac cold calls, J folds, I fold Too weak in a shorthanded game? With two aces putting in double bets a call just seemed wrong, even if they aren't going high they could luck into a hand that slaughters me. |

Pretty easy fold, I'd say.

I'd need to know that the autoshuffler is giving me a K on 4th to call this one.

i agree with the fold, but shorthanded stud/8 is a rake-eating game. i'd go find a full table.

One of my biggest scores ever came playing an extreme live one heads-up in $30/60 stud/8.

true. if you are playing someone who does not understand stud/8 or does not play shorthanded poker well, the game can be very profitable. in practice, most of the time the people who seek out heads-up matches are the loose-aggressive ones who don't want to get killed in full games.
if you can find an opponent like this, by all means take his money and smile. |

slavic, you asked a question that is obvious if you know the game. i would study a little more. also if the second ace didnt call, you might call now?

There's a "saying" (origin of which I don't know) that says in stud-8, "the only thing worse than two kings is three kings, because you can't get away from it."
Of course it's kind of tounge-in-cheek, but you catch my drift. Any comment on that Ray? al |

I think the single most profitable sentence I've ever read in a poker book was from Ray Zee's book: 'If an ace raises, throw your kings away.'
