These Teams Are Balanced?
Well, actually I think they almost are. In the last few months of discussions it appears to be:
Team Orange: Cyrus, andyfox, Chris Alger, nickyg, John Cole, and jokerswild (aka Parmenides, lol!, Ray Springfield) vs. Team Blue: Tom Haley, HDPM, Jimbo, M, and Dr Wogga. There are a number of posters who weigh in on these issues occasionally so they may be considered alternates, and my apologies for forgetting anyone or leaving anyone out. This was a spur-of-the-moment idea. jokerswild only is permitted to switch teams whenever the topic reverts to Palestinian terrorism. All participants are invited to submit two events for consideration as tiebreakers; the only consideration is that completion of each match-up may not exceed ten minutes. The two tiebreakers getting the most votes become official. Private inter-team communication regarding choice of tiebreakers is not permitted until after all votes have been submitted. Hopefully members from opposing teams will, in the spirit of fair play, take turns posting their submissions for tie-breakers. When all submissions are entered we will hold a secret ballot by PM'ing a designated neutral poster with our choices. My submissions for tiebreaking contests will be: 1) arm-wrasslin' 2) blitz chess |

Re: These Teams Are Balanced?
My submissions for tiebreaking contests will be:
1. Shotguns of choice at 20 paces. 2. No-limit Duce to seven lowball. Collaboration allowed within team members. Everyone starts with 5k. Handguns allowed. Last team standing, or with all the money, wins. -Zeno |

Re: These Teams Are Balanced?
At least you chose Denver Broncos colors. The new helmets are OK, but the old orange jerseys were the nuts.

Re: These Teams Are Balanced?
You can't snooker me, we should table the tennis idea. Instead, I suggest
1) Sushi eating 2) Getting in touch with one's feelings |

Re: These Teams Are Balanced?
M,
If I had time and could chose I'd rather play for Team Blue (I'd be a good waterboy). OTOH, I once teamed up with kooky leftest John Cole in a game of Trivial Pursuit and we (OK, John might have answered 52% of the questions) won the game without anyone else getting a turn. But our politics seemed similar back then - I guess I grew up. ~ Rick |

Re: These Teams Are Balanced?
I read a paraphrased quote on RGP today (I forget the thread):
"If you are in your twenties and you aren't liberal, you don't have a heart. In you are in your fifties and you aren't conservative, you don't have a brain." Well I guess John still has a few years to come to his senses;-) |
