Default Weak Tight?

4 handed 30-60 game. Tightest player open raises and the
button and small blind call. I call from BB with As4c,
not exactly a favorite hand of mine, but still playable
in this spot, although barely.

Flop comes 2s 3s 8s

Raiser bets and all fold. I checkraise and he calls.

Turn is a red Ace.

Now I check. I check because if he has an Ace he almost
has to have a better one and he plays well so I know he
will more than likely raise. If he has a big pair without
a spade he will probably fold so I think in that spot I
gain nothing by betting. Only if he has a big pair with
a spade will he call. Now when he bets when the Ace comes
he will fold if I checkraise if he doesn't have a spade and
he might reraise me with a bigger Ace although from my checkraise he might slow down and give me credit for a flush. So I thought my best way of extracting two bets
was by checking and then calling and on the river betting
regardless of what he has because I didn't think he would
raise with just a big Ace. As is turns out a spade came on
the river and I bet, he called and I never saw his hand.
An interesting hand which I had a lot of different options
to play and still don't know what the best way is.
