3 tips for Limit?
My friend is a self-pronounced expert at live 3/6, and he blessed me with these invaluable tips. What do you guys think of them?
1. checking in the dark with small pocket pairs and suited connectors. 2. betting in the dark with strong hands, QQ, KK, AK, etc. 3. advertising technique; with a marginal hand/garbage hand, raise it and make it look like you did it on accident (not knowing what the bet size is for example). Then when you have a very strong hand, raise and act the same way. I disagreed with every tip because, for one thing, it's at 3/6 and he is suffering from FPS. Especially with tip #3, the advertising return on investment doesn't make it worth it. First off, the opponents probably don't pay much attention in the first place. Second, you might not have an opportunity to cash in on the grand plan. People leave the table for example. For strong drawing hands like AK, why bet in the dark? If you don't hit you can choose to check it or fire a continuation bet, but betting in the dark doesn't seem to have too many advantages. Would it "scare" an opponent? Most likely they're going to play their cards the same way regardless. Checking in the dark seems like a bad idea too, say you flop a set on a scary board...everyone else checks and they see a straight/flush completing turn card for free. Can anyone agree/disagree with me about these "killer tips" so i can pass it along to my friend?

Tell him not to forget his hat and sunglasses when he goes to play the 3/6 game.
Honestly, these are more gimmicks than strategy, but I do love the thought and effort that went into #3
