Default Foxwoods vs Mohegan Sun ( Entertainment and Restaurants)

Hi, I have a few friends that are not into poker. (Husband and wife)

They asked me which is the better casino to visit, Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.

Is one better than the other, or are they basically the same.

I've only been to the Woods and it seems as if they have a few nice restaurants and shopping.

Thanks

Mohegan is better all around, except for poker. Its nicer, cleaner, and better laid out. The bars are nicer and the comps are better.

There just isnt a poker room. Which sucks - because its also closer and easier to get to.

IMHO the dining at Mohegan is better but it has been years since I've been there

Agreed with the above. Mohegan is definitly better for fine dining and entertainment.

I hear the rumor every time I go to Foxwoods. Eventually it will probably be true but I won't believe it until I see it, play there, and put a $1 chip in my pocket.

Mohegan is much nicer overall. When they had poker there, I used to split my time between the two (when in CT). They used to spread a wonder 10-20 Half kill (with a kill on 100) so it basically played as 15-30 with an extra $15 blind. Good action. Unfortunately, no poker now...but restaurants and attractions seem to be MUCH better there.

Pipes-

MS is much more of an all-around, high-end Las Vegas/Borgata type experience and FW is more of a Mall of America experience - huge, bland and catering to your average middle class American looking to get a cheap buffet and drop $200 on the slots.

When I take my wife with me we stay at MS, she does the $100 per hour spa thing at MS and I try to pay for her relaxation at the FW poker room!! Definitely -EV
