Would you call this raise?
Was playing 5/10 no limit the other day and came across this hand:
I was dealt KJs in middle position. I called $10, person in front of me raised to $90. another person in front raised to $180. Do I call or fold? I ended up folding the hand which was probably the correct thing to do but after seeing the flop, i went nuts. Person who raised first shows KK Second person who raised shows AA Flop comes J X J Turn: J River: X Oh well |

Re: Would you call this raise?
If you even considered for a second calling the raise and reraise you should probably not ever play poker.

Re: Would you call this raise?
First of all, I am not sure what you mean by "the people in front of you" - you are in MP and limped in - so do you mean the two blinds?
And this is clearly just an expression of sour grapes - you know you played the hand right - sometimes it happens. Do you b*tch when you fold to a raise and a reraise holding 72o when the flop comes 777? |

Re: Would you call this raise?
Gues I'll be the first to say you are being results oriented. What if, using the same pre-flop betting patterns you had 72o and the flop comes 2 2 2. Do you question why you didn't call preflop? You realize that you had about the same chance of winninng that hand with 72os.

Re: Would you call this raise?
just to reiterate, you definitely can't play that hand. while it looks promising, big suited 1 gap connectors, you have to figure you're already behind after those raises are made. you are at best a coin flip against an underpair, but three way it's even tougher, most likely you're dominated. if you flop a K you're most likely losing to AK, if you flop a J it's possible someone was raising with AJ or even JJ. in that position i would have thrown away anything less than AQo, but would playing in AQs be a good idea, anyone? but then again, it depends on your opponents.
there was a time when i used to love to see Kojack, but i have lost quite a bit of money playing them for the aforementioned reasons and have learned my lesson. |

Re: Would you call this raise?
I wouldn't call it with your money because I just like too darn much.
