Booking Vegas Hotels
I'm going to Vegas november 19-22.
Shall I book my hotel online or book it when I arrive? Do I save money booking it in advance or doesn't it matter? Thanks for your help in advance! |

Re: Booking Vegas Hotels
Checking for hotels when you arrive is very standard for European tourists travelling in Europe.
My recommendations is to scan the online services for pricing then the hotel's website. If you book with the hotel directly the rates sometimes will come down the closer you get to your arrival date and you can get the lower rates. |

Re: Booking Vegas Hotels
Prices in vegas literally can change every day. I don't know how these hotels do it, but they manage to tailor the rates very precisely. For example, it may cost $119/night for 3 days, then $135/night the next day and then $189/night for the next four. Do some research in advance - all the hotels have a calendar w/ the base rates, but note that the calendar will change over time. It's possible to get a discounted rate online, but most of the popular sites pretty much offer the base rate.

I'm thinking about Luxor and playing the 1/2$ game.
As I haven't played live before I want a really soft game. And I only play 0.25/0.5 online. |

Re: Booking Vegas Hotels
Like a previous poster said, book now online (I suggest directly with the casino, not through orbitz or expedia, etc., since the cancellation policies may become a hassle), but check the rates weekly. They will probably come down when you are 2 or 3 weeks away from your trip. You can then rebook the reservation and cancel the old one.
I just did this for Harrah's and the price came down about $35 per night after a couple weeks. |

Re: Booking Vegas Hotels
Have the floor track your play at the Luxor but also keep a record on your own. if you play 5 hours per day, you get 25% off the cost of your room.
The Nile deli near the sportsbook has the best sandwiches and is less expense than the cafe. They misplaced the log where they kept track of my time and if I hadn't kept track of my play, I wouldn't have gotten the discount for three of my days. |
