How did I play this?

I've only had 2 days experience playing limit, though I read GSIH and I'm in the middle of SSHE. Did I play this hand wrongly?

Ultimate Bet 0.01/0.02 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

I would do two things differently. First, I strongly suggest you bet this turn. Yes the board is scary, but giving a free card here isn't something you want to do. Look at it this way, if you bet and get raised by the straight you've still got up to 10 outs to make a boat on the river. So you call and then if you hit your boat you can bet hoping to 3-bet or just check/call if you miss.

Once you get to the river, you really can't 3-bet this. I don't mind the bet at all, but when you get raised I think you have to just call. I understand it doesn't look like the King could have given him a better hand than what you hold, but I don't think you can 3-bet a board with a one-card straight correctly very often. At least he didn't cap it.

I do think you should have fired one off on the turn to see where you were, semi bluff the straight, and be aggresive in general. There is a lot more value to that bet there as second to act, than late to act, people are less likely to assume you are stealing (which you really weren't). If RR, I would have called it and not bet out the river, but called any bet made.

You have no reason to believe you are not the best hand till you see some aggression, which doesn't mean go over board against potentially tricky players (you need a read/history on them to know otherwise), and a board that could leave you needing to improve (which I believe you would have pot odds in your favor to pair the board or hit quads).

I don't think you really made any big mistakes that I wouldnt have made. I wish I could think a hand through like I did here while at a table :/

PS - I'm a newb to, but even a newbs can be 20/20 in hindsight, no?

I think I agree with this. Although the board is quite scary with four to the straight, it's scary for everyone else too. If there's no straight but a flush draw out there, you need to charge it before the river. If there's a one-card straight out there, they might call (figuring you also have a nine -- especially if they suspected your flop bet was a semibluff or just aren't paying attention) or more likely would raise, so you lose a bet. You will have odds to call the raise, and probably odds to make a crying call on the river.

Three betting the river with a one-card straight possibility is just not wise. If not for the straight, I think it's a great value reraise -- a king is possibly going raise and then call you. But it's just too likely you're beat, and the opponent was just slowplaying for precisely this reason! (Note that his slowplay makes little sense UNLESS you would three-bet the river. Slowplaying but raising the river, he makes two big bets off you. Betting the turn for value and betting the river, he makes two big bets off you, unless your hand wasn't really very good in the first place.)
