Default So I\'ve dropped 12 Buy-Ins (Rantings)

***PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU DO NOT LIKE BAD BEAT THREADS DO NOT READ. THIS DISCLAIMER WISHES TO PREVENT ANY FLAME THROWN MY WAY*****

-1214.22 @ 100NL since Friday. I probably should stop playing for awhile right? I'm shaking I'm so livid right now. I have just seen AA cracked by A7s, AA cracked by KQo and KK cracked by AKo. All of them all-in preflop. All getting busted on the river. All in the last hour.

I usually don't get upset at bad beats, especially online. I just can't take this anymore. My view on it is that if I keep on playing it will even out, but I just keep watching my stacks going over to the fools that had made me rich for weeks before. It's just so unbelievable to watch the same guy catching with J4o three times in a row for hundreds and I see my top set on the rainbow flop, and after calling the $180 all-in, watching two diamonds hit to pay off the A4s. And I'm not just cursing at Party Poker. Stars was the cause of two of the beats that I was a 90/10 favorite after the all-in on the flop.

Alrighty... just breath. I want to keep playing but I just can't anymore. Dropping my laptop and waiting for a new one to be shipped is definitely a higher EV than playing right now.

Moving on. Do you guys stop playing after a rough stretch of time? Try the 25NL until this curse is over? Quit poker to make sure I keep the nice profit I had for this summer? I'm guessing that this is more fit for the psych forum but in my enraged state I just don't care.

Once again, I warned you that this was a ranting thread, so please don't respond with you negative remarks. It's you're own fault if you read all this.

If you're so upset that you posted this thread, you should definitely take a day or two off.

I often switch to limit. Or chess.

Set a time to take a break(Like two weeks.) then stop playing for as long as you can until that time is up. For me, when I run real bad I start to lose my patience and I get to the point where any bad beat gives me the death wish. Taking time off returns me to normal.

I'm there with you actually. I've dropped roundabout 12 too buyins at NL$100 and $200 the last month. (I haven't played a lot of hands, so it's bad.) Haha, it's like: "Where did my 12PTBB/100 go? I who thought I was so good" Now it's more like 7 if you discount the NL$25. And falling. Only 25k hands though, and a big SD, so we'll see in a longtime.

I don't get emotional like you seem to do (I actually think this is one of the biggest reasons why I can never become a really great pokerplayer. I don't care enough about the money. Not saying it's the only reason though, I have plenty of flaws.)

Sounds like you should take some time off poker. As should I.

Good for my poker skills to not care about money? Well, the goal in this game is to win money. If I don't care a lot about money, it's doubtful I'll ever find the motivation to get great. Or very good even. Why is this good?

I don't see why it's good for poker, no. I do see why it's good for other things/areas in life.
