$55: Paired flop. Villian calls my 1/2 pot bet. What to do on turn?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) converter

Turn: (t600) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero ??? No reads. this is the 1st time i've raised as SB. On the turn, if i bet, then i'm pot committed. It's unlikely he has an overpair since he probably would have reraised me prefop. But if he has the 6, then I'm dead. If i check/fold on turn, I have 490 chips. If we both check on turn, what to do on river? check/call small bet, else check/fold to all-in??? What's the correct play on the turn and river? |

Move in. He probably has a mid PP like 88 or maybe just overs and wants to take it away from you.

Shove them in and type 'Ship it beyotch!' in the chat box.
Seriously, I'd be surprised if he has you beat. I'm guessing he's got 77, 55, QT, KT, even Ax. I'm not worried about a 6 at all. You don't have enough chips to be worried about a 6. |

I agree you have to think your ten is good. Your 1/2 pot bet looks like a standard continuation bet so he could put you on absolutely anything and is just calling to see what you do on the turn or thinking his ace high is best.

if he has a 6 then I'm going broke here.

I C/R all-in.
If it goes check/check I'd push the river. If he has a curious mid-pair he may try to move you off your overcards on the flop, and if he checks behind he's more likely to call the river push as you've shown weakness. A J or 9 on the river would be sort of troubling but its a chance I'd be willing to take. |

There are plenty of cards that can fall on the river that could spell doom. The pot is simply too large in relation to your stack to get fancy. You need it, and you need it now. |

Besides two and three outers, what hand is Hero worried about catching a card on the river that won't call a push on the turn and hit the card anyway? I'm pushing the river no matter what the card is BTW.
