Default JJ UTG

10+1

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (10 handed) converter

MP1 (t470)
MP2 (t1025)
MP3 (t715)
CO (t975)
Button (t640)
SB (t740)
BB (t550)
Hero (t760)
UTG+1 (t1065)
UTG+2 (t1060)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero calls t30, 2 folds, MP1 calls t30, 1 fold, MP3 raises to t250, CO calls t250, 3 folds, Hero folds, MP1 folds.

Questions: Should I have open raised JJ here? What happened here is what makes me think JJ is a limping hand in EP, but from what position should I begin open raising here. And if I did open raise here, I assume it makes a fold to the reraise much more mandatory, correct?

I agree with both your limp and fold. A full ring, this early in the tourny, it's unlikely IMO that a 3/4x raise is going to take the pot PF. If you raised and got called, an over to your J is obviously trouble. Compounded by your position post flop, I find it difficult to take down the pot even on a cherry flop (short of a push & a prayer). JJ is no more useful post flop, on a 374 flop than an 88 or 99 IMO. I limp in EP this early in the tourny.

PF raise? Under these circumstances....CO+ in an unopened pot
