Default 99 in the big blind versus multiple maniacs

Both of these guys have VPIP > 40% and PFR around 20%. I've seen both of them 3-bet preflop with holdings such as A4o.

Preflop, if Maniac 2 had not coldcalled then I would have 3-bet and never let off the gas save a dangerous board. Was I right to just call?

I think I played the flop wrong here. My intent was to bet into Maniac 1 so that he would raise and force out Maniac 2. In hindsight I think it might have been better to wait until the turn to fire away.

Thoughts?

With two maniacs behind you and an overcard on the board I think you have to bet the flop. If you just check, maniac 1 will bet and maniac 2 might raise without a J leaving you sandwitched in a difficult position.

If you bet and maniac 1 raises, it is much less likely that maniac 2 will 3bet.

I like your turn bet.
