Default HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm a little confused on how to play this type of situation, hopefully you all can help me out...

you go for a steal raise after a few have folded and you have something like (7s 7c)As the only other high card out, a Q calls and the bring in folds. the boards play out with it looking like no one has improved, your opponent has only been calling your bets. How far do you take the hand when do you decide to check-fold?

does anyone think I should lay off trying these plays for the time being? Even though they are games that the play will work in sometimes?

Allan

Default Hello,Allen! If U raise your \"A\" and...

the "Q" calls, put your opponent on a pair of "Q's'.
Since the "Q's" did not release his hand on 3rd,U can attempt to bet out again on 4th.
However,if the "Q's" is still sticking around, then U can expect him to stay with U thru 6th Str. and will call with two pair on 7th. Your semi-bluff against this player is not working. Even though U "convinced" him that U do have "A's",he is married to his "ladies".
Your best play is to check/fold 5th--unless U improve.
Don't carry this hand out on the more expensive Strs unless U had another player who is drawing or maybe has two medium pairs.
then U can proceed to play--hoping to improve to two big pair or a set.

Happy pokering!

Check-Folding fifth with a pair/Ace kicker against a lone pair of queens is ludicrous!!

This is a good hand to have in a heads-up situation.

Hello,

First of All, after everyone has folded and you have pocket sevens with a suited Ace; you should be raising.. It isn't really a Steal Raise. You could very well have the best hand. Force people to pay with inferior hands.

Next....

Since you raised, I would continue betting unless told otherwise by my opponent(s).

I would bet it the whole way down if the board appeared not to help my opponent.

I check two small pair on the river.
I bet my one pair of sevens on the river ( unless a "tell" tells me otherwise or I am against someone who will ALWAYS call )
I bet anything higher than possible queens-up.

There you have it!

CJ

Default ONE MORE THING......

I am assuming that you playing a game with an ante. ( since you mentioned a steal raise )

In a no ante game, I might play the hand entirely differently.

You should have responded:

"Thanks for the advice, Bill."

That probably would have gotten the message across.
