Consider calling the flop and raising on a safe turn where your equity sky rockets.

how do i raise the turn if i'm first to act? you mean to say bet the turn?

But if he's on a draw wouldn't he most likely take the free card? c/r here can be dangerous if you're 3bet.

Actually yeah betting out on the turn is better than checkraising.

what if i try the stopngo but then get raised on the turn? what if there's a 3rd player in there just calling? is that better or worse for your hand?

Ok, I'll bite. What's a stopngo?

As for the hand I call the raise on the flop and check/call down to the river.

A "stop and go" is when you bet, get raised, and simply call, planning on betting out on the next street (sometimes only if a favorable card hits, which is one of the reasons for the play). It's a play to make when you're heads up in first position and can be highly effecting in NL games.
