Take the free card or try to pick on the pot on the turn?
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls. Flop: (9.50 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) MP1 bets, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, Hero calls. Turn: (5.75 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls. River: (7.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 bets, Hero folds. Final Pot: 8.75 BB Call on flop was questionable, but it was good enough implied odds to call 4 outs for the straight. Should I have taken the free card on the turn or bet like i did and hope the guy was bluffing the flop and try to pick up the pot? Sorry no read again |

Re: Take the free card or try to pick on the pot on the turn?
I tend to discount outs on a paired board a bit, i'll give you 2.5 for the gutshot, with the T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] discounted slightly. If you are going to call the flop (which i don't necesarily disagree with) take the free card on the turn...you are still drawing and i'd love to see that river for free.

I think I take the freebie, and with a LAG (esp postflop) read of this guy, I would consider raising the flop

Is raising KQo PF a good idea? I'd raise KQs, but not off.

Re: Take the free card or try to pick on the pot on the turn?
eh, you didn't hit at all on the flop. 4 T's left for a straight, I'd think your a tad to far behind to even see the turn
EDIT - opps, didn't asnwer the question, not worth doing that play |

Re: Take the free card or try to pick on the pot on the turn?
4 T's give me the straight, at least 3 are clean, i'd give myself 3.5 outs. Thats enough implied odds to call the flop, any disagreements?

raising KQo UTG is optimal, surely rusing in MP is a good play.

KQo on the button in an unraised flop, this is an easy raise.
