Default Quirky Situation Hand Quiz

Quirky Situations.

All questions assume the following:

You are playing at a full table - $2/$4 “typical” Party Poker Table.

Each hand you are in the Cutoff.

Player Reads:

Button: The hands you’ve seen showdown, are generally reasonable – ie no absolutely trashy hands. However he has a propensity to cold call raises with questionable holdings such as JTs or QJo.

The person on your right tends to be a little argo. – It could be he’s on a hot streak, but he’s raising a lot of hands – more than what seems normal.

No reads on the blinds.

UTG is solid. – Plays close to your level of play.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 1: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG limps – folded to you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Raise. Isolating him (even if button does tend to CC) is great. UTG limping from a solid tends to be hands like TJs or 66. If he has TJs, he will incorrectly check/fold a lot of flops, and isolating a smaller pair is always great.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 2: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds – folded to Argo Guy (AG)who raises.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hijack open from an Agg player could mean a lot. I like a reraise here.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 3: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG raises, folded to Argo Guy (AG) who calls.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hm... button likes to cold call... no read on blinds... I still say fold.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 4: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG limps, one caller, AG limps, and you raise. Button calls, as does the BB.
Flop comes J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
What do you do if:

A. UTG Bets – one caller, folded to you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Call. If I am UTG, I think I would have a hand like QJs or JTs a lot here. And the raise will not get you a free card, unless the turn is an A or K.

[ QUOTE ]

B. Check to AG who bets.

[/ QUOTE ]

Raise. An Ag might make a stab (though sadly he really can't be betting a draw). Since UTG didn't lead, I would think he has a PP... maybe like 88 or something, and the raise might fold that hand.

[ QUOTE ]

C. Checked to you.

[/ QUOTE ]

Check. Hope the button does to.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 5: Folded to you holding K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

[/ QUOTE ]

Bump it up.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 6: Folded to AG who open raises. You hold 88.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bump it up.
[ QUOTE ]

Hand 7: UTG Limps, another limps, AG raises, you call with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Button calls, as does the BB.

Flop comes Jack high – J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

A. A blind bets – folded to AG who calls….you?
B. UTG bets – folded to AG who calls… you?
C. Checked to AG who bets.
D. Checked to you

[/ QUOTE ]
Fold, fold, raise, bet.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 8:

Folded to AG who limps, you limp with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Button calls, SB folds, BB checks
Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

What do you do when:
A. Checked to you
B. Checked to AG who bets

[/ QUOTE ]

Bet. Raise.

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 9: You limp with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]after two limpers. The BB checks.
Flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Checked to you and you bet.
Turn 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Checked to you and you bet – the BB raises. --- Action?

[/ QUOTE ]

Call (with the intention of making a flush on the river)

[ QUOTE ]

Hand 10:
You limp with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] after three limpers
Flop comes K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Checked to you and you bet.
Turn comes 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Checked to you and you bet – and the BB raises.---- Action.

[/ QUOTE ]

Fold. Unless you are getting like 7 or 8-1, which I doubt. (not sure of all the other action)

i like a raise if the button was less likely to call. KTo for a couple bets preflop is tough out of position. just mho though.
