Two heads-up situations
Both of these hands came up this past Friday in a good 40 game. The opponents are different in each case. Comments solicited for all streets.
Hand 1: I'm UTG+1 with JJ. I raise and get 3-bet by the guy next to me. He's a relatively intelligent sad-sack who has decent hand selection but sometimes plays poorly post-flop. Everyone else folds and I call. Flop: 9xx rainbow I check, he bets, I call. Turn: rag I bet, he calls. River: rag that pairs the board I bet, he calls. Hand 2: I'm in MP with AQ and open-raise. All fold except the BB, who's a savvy regular who also plays a lot online. Flop: KKx He checks, I bet, he calls. Turn: rag Checked around. River: K He bets, I call. |

Re: Two heads-up situations
I don't see anything remarkable about either of the hands. On the second hand I could see folding in the rare instance where you know that your opponents knows that you will call with any ace. The second hand would be more interesting if you had a hand like A-10 or worse. In this case a bluff raise on the river would be an exciting and perhaps profitable play.

Re: Two heads-up situations
In hand 1, I might check the river and let him bluff with AK. without him raise on the flop or , I am not sure there are many hands that he would call a bet with that you beat

Re: Two heads-up situations
I think his opponent will call with AK about 99% of the time here.

Re: Two heads-up situations
hand 1: a common line i take for this hand is to call flop and turn then lead river.
hand 2: you can consider folding to this river bet, because any reasonable person should realize you will call down with Ahigh, but against a relatively unknown i will certainly call. |
