Default Are Hybrids Cheaper than Normal Cars?

Pay less in gas, but more for the car. I only drive about 300 miles a week, and gas prices are bound to rise. Is there another factor I'm missing? Like, does it cost a lot to recharge the battery? I really have no idea and I'm not about to ask a car salesman.

Do the math. You have to drive a lot of miles to make up for the higher initial cost. The big wild card is in 8 years when you need a new battery pack how much that is going to cost/affect the resale value of your car.
