How did I do? A party 5/10 hand
Villian is VPIP of 35, PFR of 9. Post flop agression 0.65.
Onto the hand... Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) Preflop: Hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls. Flop: (6.40 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Hero bets, Button folds, BB calls. This is a pretty obvious bet, no? With 2 backdoor nut draws and an overcard. Turn: (4.20 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. Not sure about this one, mabye give up??? River: (6.20 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero folds. Should I call this in case he missed his flush? Final Pot: 7.20 BB Comments on all streets appreciated. |

Re: How did I do? A party 5/10 hand
I dont necessarily think the line is wrong. I dont really like your reason for betting the flop (just because you have backdoor draws), it should be cause you are probably ahead and win it right here in most cases. Now that he called I think an argument can be made for checking the turn and check calling the river. You get a showdown for the same price you got to fold.

Re: How did I do? A party 5/10 hand
Betting the flop is standard, not because youve got 2 backdoor draws, but because you may have the best hand and youve got the folding equity.
I ALWAYS bet the turn card again HU when it pairs the top card on board. If he had the queen you would have found out on the flop most likely. Its a scary card, and could get him to laydown his crappy 74o or whatever. ugh, I hate when they do this on the river, if youve got no read on the guy but have enough hands on him for his stats to be meaningful its an easy lay down because he looks very passive. I think against a complete unknown I prolly lay it down too, but against someone who bluffs are would make a play, then I call. I like how you played this hand |

Re: How did I do? A party 5/10 hand
I agree, the flop was an obvious bet because I was probably ahead. This goes without saying though. I didn't want to confuse anyone witht the backdoor crap. I'd bet it if I didn't have a backdoor flush draw as well.
