Default YTD ATS stats

OK, so I am getting killed so far, particularly considering my O/U bets at the beginning of the year. But I still have money in my bankroll (cut from $100 to $50 by bad losses this week), and so I'm not giving up.

I had a thought. I see all these bad trends being used as betting gospel. But what about YTD Against-the-Spread numbers? It seems to me that almost all teams end up near 8-8 ATS at year's end, at least in my short glances at stat books in the past.

So, why shouldn't I bet against the 3-0 ATS teams and with the 0-3 ATS teams? Or should I wait until a later week to bet these discrepencies.
