Default A hand you cannot win

I was just thinking about hands where you will definitely lose, regardless of what your opponent holds.

The only examples I can think of are a board of xxxx2 (quads, deuce kicker) where you hold 22, and 22223 with you holding 33. Are there any other board/hand combinations that give you a sure loss?

I don't mean to sound rude, but I really don't see the importance of this. Also, you CAN win these pots with a bluff occassionally.

If you bet enough to put someone all-in except for one cent, and they come over the top, regardless of your pot odds (100000:1), it's not worth calling the bet. I'm just trying to find places where you wouldn't call a bet on the river, no matter how big the pot odds are.

No importance, really; just thought it was interesting.

For a certain price, I would call just to see his cards and hopefully learn something about the player.

I agree with you Edge. I think this is a fun poker puzzle.

If you count cases where you have more than one opponent, then there are quite a few situations. For example, any board with (XX 33 4) where you hold 22 and XX is any pair.

Another case would be Ah Jh 8h 6h 4c and you hold 3d 2c. If you have three or more opponents, you can't win or tie. (this case obviously has numerous variations).

its a somewhat specialized situation... 2 pair on the board with a 2 kicker where you have pocket 2's is the only other one i can think of.

Maybe I don't understand what you're saying but you could easily be ahead on the hand. Are you saying the board is KKJJ2 and you have 22? In that case you have a boat and you're ahead of any hand without a king or jack.

22 for you.

K turn
K river.

Too late to edit but actually a hand like XXYY2 where you have 23 would work although you would chop if someone else had an identical hand or pocket threes.
