Would you pull this play ?
Say you hold KQs (let's say spades).
You go into a weak raised pot (1 BB) from MP. Only you and the raiser (you move first). FLOP : 6s Kh 3s You check, he bets pot (your read says AK), you go all-in. Stacks are equal, the all-in is 10 times the bet. |

Re: Would you pull this play ?
probably not, do you have a read on his tendencies viv-a-vis folding to overbets like that?
why not just call and see the turn, it's still cheap, right? it's still a little pot and not worth getting broke on if he calls and does have what you think. if i was gonna semi-bluff at it i'd bet the pot. but even then, why semi bluff when you think he's got AK? the only hand he would worry about enough to fold is a set or AA, and i don't think he'd give you that much credit... also, why would your read say AK with a single bb raise? |

Re: Would you pull this play ?
ok
i still wouldn't overbet like that. a pot raise is all you really need for a semi-bluff. unless you just want to get it allin and gamble... you have 9 spade outs and 3 jacks that's two shots at a dozen outs, and you get just a tiny bit of folding equity out of the bet, so sure that might not be a bad play now that i think about it (that doesn't make it good). but, if you think you're a better player, why not wait til you have a really big advantage instead of just a little tiny one? that all comes down to style though. i'm pretty conservitive. |

I prefer it with a pair and straight draw. It's more covert.

If someone minraises with xx and then minraises again 3 hands later, my conclusion is that they like to minraise a lot, not that they've been dealt xx again. |

Re: Would you pull this play ?
better to make that play with 62 than kq. why would you call him preflop if you put him on ak.

Re: Would you pull this play ?
the PF call was not so hot, but I did not put him 100% on AK with the raise, but the flop combined with the bet confirmed my impression quite a bit.
I was after Q, 2 pair or flush I guess.. |

Re: Would you pull this play ?
I think if you were pretty sure he had A-K then the play basically comes down to what you want to do. Do you want to chase those spade and jack outs, or would you rather play it safe and see the next card by just calling his raise? That pretty much is up to you, but I would have just called to save myself the money and the potential bitterness of making a correct read, calling on a draw, and losing.
