Default heads up tourneys on stars

typical newbie questions for HU SnGs. a lot of what I have found in the archives for this forum pertains to play once it gets down to heads up, not HU SnGs.

1) I know this is covered in the faq, but should my ROI and std. dev be higher, lower or same for HU tourneys?

2) I seem to not do as well in these as I would like. would anyone like to take a look at a tourney transcript and offer advice? in return I would be happy to analyze NL/PL ring game HHs up to 5/10.

3) how many of you play these regularly or specialize in them? I imagine they can be very profitable.

I found this site useful for estimating my win rates.

Not sure where you stand on the math side of things, if you need a hand let me know.

A generalization

larger fields: higher ROI, lower ITM, larger st. dev, longer time

smaller fields : lower ROI, higher ITM, smaller st. dev, shorter time

What this does not do is account for the fact that while your ROI may be lower in HU play, the time for each tournament is smaller so the hourly rate may be similar or higher.

This is a broad generalization, but comparing ROI for HU play and 10 man SNG's is like comparing apples and oranges.

For Example winning 70% of 10+.5 HU matches gives an ROI of 33%, a great HU ROI at this level, but 33% ROI at $10+1 SNG' is weak IMO.

I wish Stars had the 5 minute "Turbo" blinds for heads-up like on the SNGs. They take too long for me. I always lose patience in them, you know what that means...

Email them and ask.

It seems like it might be a popular format, and they certainly won't mind taking the rake quicker.

33% ROI is weak? What is your ROI? Do you multi-table?

I think the point is correct though.

33% in HU would be 'Extremely Good', whilst 33% in Single Tables would be just 'Reasonable' or possibly 'Good'
