Default when to slow down? was this just plain out of my control?

I tried to slow down on the river but there was no way out and I was starting to accept defeat. I know it's results-thinking mostly, but what could I have done here to avoid this horrible tragedy?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

Wow. I don't see anything. I play this the same. I put UTG+1 on AK or AQ and UTG+2 on 77.

This kinda stuff happens from time to time in poker -- no way I can see to aviod it. Just know that opponents cold calling 77 (if indeed that is what he had) preflop in EP will make you money in the long run.

You can't fold this, at all, ever.

You tried to see the cheap showdown, but they capped it for you... Honestly, I can't really think how you're good here 1/10... I can see one guy overplaying AQ here, but 2? I don't even think the fishiest fish would take 7 with anything other than an A or 7 this far.

Sorry if one of them capped with 77/88/99/A7/A8/A9. UTG+2 have 77/88/99 and called 2 cold (twice) on the flop?

Looks like you were just along for the ride. I'd play it the same

I was up against JJ,88 and A7. I'll let you figure out who had what.

Put the guy with JJ on your buddy list.

You played this fine. Sucks to be on the losing end of an action flop like this, but you played it fine.

I don't think the JJ was that bad. I'm guessing SB had it and was all in PF. I only see UTG+1 who had 88 and UTG+2 with A7. I think I definitly question UTG+1 calling 2 cold on the flop with a two-outer. Must have been the implied odds.

There is nothing you can do.

Tonight I had KK and the flop came up AAK. I knew I had the nuts and 2 other capped the turn when a 2 came up and then the 2 paired on the river and I knew I was dead but only one other player left so I had to play it out for 1 more bet. Sometimes you suck them out and sometimes they suck you.
